Browser games are those that do not need to download to your computer. You just need to find your favorite genre, read the list of suitable games and start playing. Of course they don’t have the best and most realistic graphics, and in general browser games don’t have high-budget famous games. They are designed for those who do not want to spend a lot of time on the game and make it possible to play anywhere where there is internet – at home, in the office, subway, etc.

The difference between browser games from the client
The first major difference, as written above, is that the browser games do not need to download. All you need to do is register for the game and play from any device that has a web browser. They do not require any space on your hard drive. Client the same need to download to your computer. Some of them can weigh tens of GB. There are games that weigh over 100 GB. Client games can be found here.
Browser games are less demanding on your hardware. They run well on almost everyone, even on the weakest computers and laptops. Client games, on the contrary, are very demanding to your computer. Examples of these games are: Metro Exodus, The Wither 3, the latest Battlefield, World of Tanks, etc.

And thirdly browser games are fairly simple. Both technically and gameplay. You do not have to pass too difficult levels, unlike most client games.

Types of Browser Games
Single-player games. Rare enough at the moment, they do not require you to interact with other players. As a rule, they belong to casual games. There is no need for a long and careful study of the game rules, etc. They are designed for a wide audience and are easy to learn.
Multiplayer games. These are games where you have to play with several people. These can be card games, economic and strategy.
Massively multiplayer games (MMO). In these games, you can play with a large number of players. From a few dozen, to several thousand people. Mostly MMORPG games. Also, they can often be role-playing games.
Simulation games. Also a fairly popular genre, there are different simulations, such as railroad, farm or even a space station.

HTML 5 Games
After almost all web browsers made support for HTML5, games in HTML5 began to appear. With it, the browser was able to render many elements, without the involvement of third-party plug-ins such as Adobe Flash. And Javascript made it possible to do animation. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are also used in game development. Three-dimensional graphics is implemented with – WebGL, which directly in the browser using hardware acceleration displays 3D graphics. The main advantage of HTML5 games is that they can run on Iphone and Ipad, as Apple since 2010 does not support Flash on its mobile devices. In addition, as a rule, games in HTML5 run faster than in Flash.

What the future holds for browser-based Flash games.
Today’s games are now written in HTML5. As much as there are a lot of good Flash games, you won’t be able to play them anytime soon. Now all browsers are abandoning Flash, on which some browser games are created. Adobe has announced that it will discontinue support for Flash starting December 31, 2020. The company also recommends removing Flash from your computer before support ends.

It is not yet known what Flash game developers will do. It is possible that they will rewrite existing flash games to HTML5. Perhaps some will port to mobile platforms. Also, some enthusiasts are porting browser games to hard drives, creating catalogs of games on the Internet. But these are all incomplete ways. The developers themselves come up with some instructions for players to keep playing their favorite games.
At the moment you can play browser-based flash games by enabling its use in the browser. By default, this feature is disabled.
